Yes obesity is a big health risk, particularly for older pets which are less active.

Q. I've heard that vets can implant a microchip into cats for identification purposes. Is this true?   A. Yes, at the Vet Centre in Lockerbie we can implant a tiny microchip capsule containing a bar-code.

Q. Can anything be done to relieve stiffness & debilitation in my arthritic pet?   A. Yes, certainly! Our Vets have considerable experience and can develop excercise programmes or prescribe anti-inflamitory medication to relieve pain in addition to joint supplementation.

Q. Do you offer Dog Health Checks?   A. Yes we offer a FREE 6 month health check where we will carry out a full physical examination and discuss the best care for your pet.

The practice has a large equine bias, with an experienced, specialised team dedicated to all aspects of equine work.

We cover the full spectrum of throughbred racing yards, eventing and show jumping to the child’s pony or companion donkey.

The majority of our work is performed out in the field at client’s stables; however we also have the facilities on site to carry out more involved investigative work and certain surgical procedures.

The practice works closely with referral practices and universities, farriers and equine physiotherapists to ensure the very best treatment for all our patients.

Due to an increasing demand in the number of cases being seen we are changing the Lockerbie Surgery times to appointment only between Mon - Sat, 8.30-9.30am, & 2.00-3.00pm. Mon - Fri 5-6pm.
